Dunaújváros (formerly Dunapentele, Sztálinváros) is a town and district in Fejér County. Dunaújváros is an industrial town on the right bank of the Danube. After the Second World War, a large steelworks and settlement for 50,000 inhabitants were built around a small village. Dunaújvaros offers a very good insight into the architecture and urban planning of the early post-war period in Eastern Europe. By train

Trains from Budapest-Déli Railway Station arrive at Dunaújváros town every two hours.

By bus

From Budapest-Népliget take a bus half hourly, one and half hours.

By car

Dunaújváros is on the M6 ​​(Budapest-Pécs) motorway, which has three exits in the city. South of the city it intersects with the M8 motorway, which here only consists of the Pentele híd, which connects the M6 ​​with the other bank of the Danube at Dunavecse . Both the M6 ​​and the Danube bridge of the M8 require a vignette. Coming from Székesfehérvár you do not drive on the motorway, but directly on trunk road 62.

By bike

The Danube Cycle Path Budapest-Belgrade runs on the other bank of the Danube. The Pentele híd (motorway bridge) south of the city can also be crossed by bike or on foot. The bicycle connection on the right bank of the Danube is not well developed and runs for large parts of the route along the busy trunk road 6.
