Summary

Description

In May 1962 the Schubert and Mewett Families along with Joan Schubert's parents Trevor and Florence Sloan travelled by car to the Northwest and Kimberley as far as Fitzroy Crossing. The road was unsealed and corrugated from Northampton northwards. Les Schubert towed a new 6x4 box trailer to carry the camping gear. It did not cope with the rough roads well and required running repairs.

Photographs from the Maurice Mewett Collection.
