Català: Panell 1 de Cancuén, període clàssic tardà (any 799). Pedra calcària. Fundación La Rua Maya, Guatemala. Exposició Maies. L'enigma de les Ciutats Perdudes del museu arqueològic d'Alacant.
Sobre aquest panell es troben un total de 160 blocs jeroglífics esculpits en alt relleu, organitzats en huit columnes dobles de 20 blocs de glifs cadascuna. Originalment, existia un altre panell en Cancuén que exhibia la primera part d'un ampli text, del qual el present panell formava la continuació. Aquesta part conservada de la inscripció va ser dedicada pel rei Taj Txan Ahk. El primer esdeveniment esmentat en el panell va tenir lloc en l'any 652 "en companyia de Yukno'm Tx'een" de Calakmul, d'ara endavant, el text parla de l'entronització del nou rei de Cancuén en l'any 656 d.C. Aquest passatge del text és summament interessant ja que s'esmenta explícitament que el nou governant, de nom K'ib Ajaw, va rebre les seves insígnies de reialesa de la mà del propi Yukno'm Tx'een de Calakmul. Això vol dir que la ciutat de Cancuén en aquest temps ja era subordinada de la gran Calakmul, situada a més de 250 quilòmetres de distància. |
