Summary

Description
English: Lothian Buses bus 720 (reg. SN55 BLV), a 2005 Volvo B7TL double-decker with Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini bodywork, pictured heading west on Princes Street on route 3A to Clovenstone, wearing a one off 'Connect 3' version of the new Madder and White livery.

720 was one of three Lothian buses repainted in March 2010 to launch a new version of the traditional Madder and White livery. This livery had dissapeared in Summer 2009 with final withdrawal of the last step entrance buses in the fleet, having been gradually replaced since 1999 with new batches of low floor buses, which wore the 'Harlequin' livery - red and gold squares on a white background. The other two launch buses were 720's sister No. 725 and a 2004 single-decker No. 101.

While the other two buses were launched in the standard colours, 720 also wore route branding, combining the 'Connect' wording adopted on new buses for routes 22 (pink) and 26 (red) in 2009, with the yellow branding colour used by route 3/3A when these buses were delivered new in 2005. 720 proved to be a one off however; in September 2010 it was announced route 3/3A would be one of the routes receiving new branding based on local associations, with repaints on the 3/3A becoming 'The Lady Victoria', but retaining the yellow base colour.
