Linden bauxite plant

Linden is a city in Berbice-Corentyne.

With a population of 27,277 (2012), Linden is the second largest Guyanese city after the national capital, Georgetown.

Initially Linden started as the site for commercial bauxite mining. Bauxite is the world's main source of aluminium.

  • Linden Museum of Socio-Cultural Heritage, Co-op Crescent Street, Mackenzie (center of town). Local history with miniature replicas of trains and factory buildings.
  • 1 Sky Lake. Gorgeous scenery. Those physically fit can explore the countryside. Confusing to get to on a map, but locals are happy to give directions.
