Get in[edit]

Get around[edit]

See[edit]

  • 1 Takaniyama Overlook (高谷山 霧の海 展望台), Awayamachi. 24h. This overlook is at the top of a mountain just west of the town. It has great views, and is notable because you can often see the "sea of clouds" if visiting in the early morning hours, especially in the autumn and winter. Free.

Do[edit]

  • Hogen-ji, 1057 Miyoshi-cho.
  • Origami Museum, 300-4 Hitsuta Kimita-cho, +81 82-453-7074. 09:00-17:00, closed Tuesdays. A museum dedicated to showcasing some of the most intricate and beautiful examples of origami art.

Buy[edit]

Eat[edit]

Drink[edit]

Sleep[edit]

  • 1 Takataniyama Camping Ground (高谷山広場キャンプ場), Awayamachi. This is a primitive campground with a wonderful view. The tent area is at the top of the hill, a 3-minute walk from cars. There is an old and dirty cooking area, and the restrooms are rarely cleaned. In other words, this campground is great because of the views, not the facilities. Free.
