Get in[edit]

By plane[edit]

By car[edit]

By bus[edit]

The Triad is served by Greyhound buses from other parts of North Carolina and beyond. Beyond that, PART has one line that goes from Chapel Hill to Burlington and Greensboro.

By train[edit]

Amtrak's Carolinian and Piedmont trains stop in Burlington, Greensboro, and High Point; this is a convenient and pleasant way to get to these cities from Charlotte or the Research Triangle. The Crescent also stops in Greensboro and High Point on its way from New York City to New Orleans.

Get around[edit]

PART (Piedmont Authority for Regional Transit) buses serve various cities and towns in the region. The system's big hub is the 2 Coble Transportation Center.

Go next[edit]

  • Asheville – liberal, artsy town in the mountains
  • Charlotte Metro – not too far away, and home to the biggest city in North Carolina
  • Research Triangle – another metro area centered around three cities instead of one
This region travel guide to Piedmont Triad is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here. Please plunge forward and help it grow!
