Republic is a small city in the Rocky Mountains region of Washington. It is the county seat of Ferry County.

  • 3 Stonerose Interpretive Center, 15-1 N. Kean St, +1-509-775-2295. Near a rich collection of fossils, including the petrified flowers that give the museum its name.   • 5 Ranald MacDonald's Grave (18 miles northwest of Curlew Lake State Park on Mid Way Road). Ranald MacDonald was the first person to teach English in Japan. He has monuments to him in Japan.

World class little yarn store complete with local hand spun yarn and home of Sleeping Dog Teas. Cynthia's husband builds really cool burial urns and caskets in his basement shop.(The Kettle River Urn and Casket Company). Sometimes she lets him come upstairs. So beware!
