The Central West is a region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the South of Brazil.

- 1 Santa Maria — biggest city in the region, and the gateway to Paleorrota, the state's paleontological tourism route
- 2 Cacequi — has numerous and immense cavities in the soil derived from erosion and wind
- 3 Mata — has large deposits of petrified trees
- 4 São Pedro do Sul — it has the largest reserves of fossil plants on the planet
- 5 São Vicente do Sul — a part of the Paleorrota Geopark
