Recommendation[edit]

For a good mid level restaurant visit Crystal (at Crystal chowk) or Estoria (at Ranjit avenue). Both are multi cusine restaurants and serve good dihes of Indian/Continental fare. —The preceding comment was added by 117.199.81.41 (talkcontribs) on 06:58, 21 February 2011

If these are indeed good restaurants, there's not much point in recommending them on the talk page. Whoever likes them should add a non-touty listing for them. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:13, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Amritsar Heritage Walk[edit]

This is recommended as something to do, but it is not described in any way. Is there a traditional route to this walk? If so, would a brief description suffice? Then that should be put in the listings. If only a long, detailed listing would suffice, there might be enough content there for a separate itinerary article. On the other hand, if it's a guided walking tour, unless it meets the criteria in Wikivoyage's tour policy, it shouldn't be listed.Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:17, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Photos of people[edit]

This is another area of concern. Did the people pictured sign model releases? Photos of people are generally disallowed on Wikivoyage. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:31, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article be downgraded to Usable?[edit]

My remarks at Wikivoyage:India Expedition/Punjab:

"This may be a Guide, but it needs a lot of work before it could be reasonably nominated for DotM, as it should be when ready. First, it needs a thorough copy edit, especially in hotel listings, Many Of Which Are Full Of Gratuitous Initial Caps and other signs of touting. The "Sleep" section is arguably too long to be user-friendly, too, so perhaps hotels with touty descriptions or none should be unceremoniously deleted. "Buy" could use a little work, too, again for readability. (Should each type of item to buy be bolded, for example? And where should the shopping centre listing be put? Its current placement is without explanation.) Under "Do," what is "Amritsar Heritage Walk"? There is no explanation. If this is an itinerary, its route should be explained. If it's a paid tour, it should be deleted. "Old City Shopping" seems like a "Buy," not a "Do." What activities do people do in Amritsar, other than walking, studying (covered under "Learn") and praying?"

A DOTM nomination failed on this basis. All of these remarks still apply. I think that at a minimum, in order to maintain its status as a Guide, Gratuitous Initial Caps should be removed from the article. I notice them particularly in "Sleep", which probably needs a major overhaul, but I'm also seeing them in the one templated listing in "Buy".

So what do you think? I don't think I'm up to doing all this work, though I might help a bit with copy editing. Does anyone want to take on this big job, or do you think the article should be downgraded, despite some good sections like "See"? Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:52, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Downgraded to Usable, which I think is the right call. If we want to make this into a truly good article, a lot of work will be needed. Any help anyone can give would serve the traveller well. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:38, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Name of airport[edit]

Raja Sansi International Airport is the name on the Wikivoyage article and the web page of the airport. Wikipedia however states Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport and also Google maps shows this name. Which is the most current? --Traveler100 (talk) 07:08, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
