Pronunciation guide[edit]

This is way too technical. A pronunciation guide for a travel guide should not be an overview of the language's phonology, it should be a quick guide to pronouncing the alphabet and the transliterated phrases below. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 20:17, 27 March 2008 (EDT)

First, to the anon who fixed up the pronunciation guide, thanks! But I'm confused by the two last edits, which removed the existing translations/transliterations (which admittedly were not very useful to begin with) and then replaced them with phonetic transliterations of the English phrases. The phrase lists are meant to contain both and only 1) the direct translation (untransliterated), and 2) a pseudo-phonetic transliteration of the translated phrase (so, a pseudo-phonetic transliteration of the Bengali). --(WT-en) Peter Talk 23:04, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Bengali phrasebook needs some help[edit]

I have cleaned up the phrasebook to comply with Wikivoyage:Phrasebook article template and added Bengali phrases for two different national varieties: one for India/West Bengal (Standard Bengali) and the other for Bangladesh. However, since I'm not fully aware of the Bangladeshi dialect (my dialect corresponds to Standard Bengali), I need some help from Bangladeshis.
