"but swimming in the sea is not completely recommended." - why not? Please explain. - (WT-en) sjc196 15:32, 13 Apr 2004, (GMT)

well it's the british seaside, i saw that comment and didn't really agree. it either needs justification (which could be that in summer the beach gets absolutely packed and people tend to drop litter which ends up in the sea and makes is a bit nasty, or in winter it is cold..).. but i think it's much of a muchness, and no more true than it would be for many other british seaside towns.

Sorry Tom, I thought you were the author. I was just concerned that an unjustified comment like that isn't really of any help to anyone. I'll take it out - as you say, it applies to much of Britain's seaside towns. - (WT-en) sjc196 15:44, 13 Apr 2004 (GMT)

Buying bus tickets?[edit]

Where can one buy the £3 all-day bus ticket mentioned in the "Get around" section? Newsagents and so on? --(WT-en) Kake Pugh 05:57, 21 April 2007 (EDT)

Tuc Tucs and Drink sections[edit]

I have edited this to indicate the seasonal nature of the service; there is also local doubt as to its return so this may need editing again soon. --(WT-en) Andybeard 15:35, 25 November 2007 (EST)

The Drink section is very untidy, factually inaccurate and debatable points. Both The Event and the Queens Arms have now changed name and the latter is no longer catering for a majority gay crowd. I have removed both. The section on the Pavilion Tavern reads as an advert: "The Pavilion Tavern 7 Castle Square. A cheap pub colloquially known as the 'Pav Tav'. Various clubs above the pub start at 10PM most nights. Expect to pay around £1.80 for a pint. £2 for a double vodka and Red Bull." I don't think the prices need to be there as it already states cheap. Also, are these prices accurate? The statement regarding most pubs and bars around Kemptown being gay is also fairly inaccurate. Although the area has a higher ratio of pubs/bars that cater towards gay or straight majority crowds it is certainly not the majority of the venues (Also regarding the language of this phrase, the pub is not gay - the clientele is!) I am unsure which venues to use as examples but I have tried to find the most well-known venues.

Wifi Listing[edit]

Have moved to the contents of the old Wifi Listing article here (well, added the 2 or 3 that weren't in the list on this page) and redirected that page to here. However, do we need a list of wifi locations when there are external links to sites that list similar? The main argument I can see for keeping this info is that external links are no good when printed and I think we have a few extras listed.

Perhaps what we need is for a Brighton local to start creating listings for these places under the relevant headings and just add a line to say wifi is available there (one or 2 already had listings elsewhere, do have done that and removed them from the wifi list).
