Very nice site. I enjoy your webcam the most. Beautiful scenery! Keep up the great work.

This is the pagebanner, and I think deletion is pretty much a sure thing because of the reasoning: "There is no freedom of panorama in the copyright law of Botswana, and these freely-licensed (CC BY/CC BY SA/PD) images have no permission from the architect. The building in question was completed in 1996."
Do we want to save this pagebanner? If so, we need to upload it locally. Your thoughts? Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:45, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Noooooo my stylish banner :( Also, as Gaborone apparently was built from scratch in the 1960s, probably other photos of buildings will be deleted too sooner or later, so it could be a good idea to upload those as well (the lead picture is already locally uploaded). OK, I'll take care of this by tomorrow if no-one else beats me to it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:24, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:04, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded locally. I wish freakin Commons paid us for this work... Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:40, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, not another one. But thanks for uploading it though. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 07:47, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. US Army photo. Over 2,000 views on Flickr since 2010, and nary a peep of objection from the Botswanan Government, evidently, yet it freakin violates theoretical copyright rules, so overzealous fucking Commons will delete it. Maybe we should be using Flickr instead of Commons as our repository of free images. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:53, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Especially [the user who we all know who] who I spent my entire lunch break trying to explain why I proposed to strip his special rights and yet he calls that a fucking threat! I'm no longer going to upload any of my personal images to commons, and unless I feel like it has better use on Wikipedia or Wikibooks, I'm uploading them locally from now on. In my opinion, this bullshit could be avoided if "someone" did their research better and slowed down their pace. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:09, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
To be fair, this nomination was by a different user, it wasn't a speedy deletion nomination, and it's frankly appropriate per Commons policy; it's just that rules sometimes come up against common sense, and rules win at Commons. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:12, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and I have to say, I'm not finding JTWiltz12345's deletion noms a problem. They space it well out, and make sure that there's a gap. A1Cafel meanwhile does not. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:21, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
