Suggested fixes to make this a possible Featured Travel Topic[edit]

This is a quite good-looking article and it’s already ranked as Guide. But there are still some headings that lack content towards the end of the article. I also want to ask if there’s anything someone going hiking in Israel ought to know that is missing from the article?

Once that would be sorted out, this article could certainly be nominated for Featured Travel Topic; maybe for a month in late autumn 2015 or spring 2016. Tamuz? Or someone else from Israel/with hiking experience in Israel?--ϒpsilon (talk) 13:18, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone? ϒpsilon (talk) 12:23, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi ϒpsilon. About the missing headings at the end - I added them because I believe there are things to be said about those topics, but currently I do not have the time to collect the necessary information. If the article is to be nominated and no one can fill those sections yet, then I believe they should either be deleted (for now), or maybe I can add some minimal, basic information about them. However, these sections are just "bonuses" for anyone who wants to organize some very special hiking trips. For most visitors, I believe the article contains everything that anyone needs to know in order to plan and safely go out hiking in Israel. So I believe it is valid for nomination, if I may say so myself. At any rate, generally I don't have a lot of time these days to actively contribute here, but if you have any questions or suggestions then feel free to contact me also by the Email this user button. Thanks for your reply; good to know that the article is practically ready. As of now we already have nominees for the whole of 2015, so there's no rush with the article. ϒpsilon (talk) 09:44, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Politics...[edit]

I really hate even stating my opinion on the whole issue (and quite frankly, I am happy it is ignored as per policy), but this edit lets it seem there will be an issue after all. So how do we put this in terms in accord with our policies without starting the notorious "Middle East flamewar"? Hobbitschuster (talk) 23:41, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see what needs editing. I assume you're referring to this: "In its short history, Israel has invaded into and been invaded by all of the countries surrounding it[...]" It's unambiguously true. No-one needs to get into the justifications any side would use for any invasion (who provoked what, which party is illegitimate, etc.). I'd just leave this as is and move on.
