hi, just able to browse this page. and i would like to share my thoughts. it is unfair to call the attacks of Moro people against the Spaniards and those who favored the occupation as "attacks of pirates and savage tribes" note that under Muslim history, the attacks staged by Moro people are attacks with valid historic claim-- and that is to oppose colonialization. parang minamaiit natin ang mga attacks na ito as mere thievery. its clearly an understatement. least to find that phrase at wikivoyage... also, let me note that history was clear that spaniards were truly set to control lanao provinces as read in their hatched plans and the deployment of their forces. iligan as a launching pad of their territorial expansion incidentally become an object of attack by Maranaos and Iranuns.
