ATM's and 7-eleven's[edit]

There are more ATM's and 7-eleven's on the island. If anyone knows where please tell me on my Talkpage and I will update the picture.

Disambig?[edit]

Arent there two "ko chang"s? The other one's off the northern part of the West coast... am I remembering right? (WT-en) Majnoona 09:35, 5 March 2006 (EST)

There's probably more ("Ko Chang" is Elephant Island and Thailand has plenty of both), but I'd say the Gulf of Thailand one described here is far better known. The other can go in Ko Chang (Andaman) if ever needed. (WT-en) Jpatokal 10:00, 5 March 2006 (EST)
South (Thailand) and Ranong (province) have it pencilled in as Ko Chang (Ranong)

Thailands second biggest island[edit]

I was under the impression that Ko Chang was Thailand's second biggest island and not the third as quoted

I believe your impression is correct. Fixed. (WT-en) Jpatokal 10:04, 9 June 2007 (EDT)

According to Wikipedia, Ko Chang total area is 217 km2 (83.8 sq mi); while Koh Samui's 228.7 km2 (88.3 sq mi).

Getting from From Koh Chang to Siem Reap[edit]

We wrote this itinerary. Feel free to use it for the wikivoyage articles.

6:45 Songtheaw from white sands beach to Koh chang ferry pier. 60B We waited from 6:15 to get one, but there wasn't one until ca. 6:45 which was already quite packed.

6:54 Ferry to Laem Ngop 100B Songtheaw droped us off where sb trying to sell us bus tickets to bangkok (which isn't that bad idea, but we are going to Cambodia). Walk 100 meters back to the main entrance of the ferry pier to the car ticket counter (even when you arrive by feet you just buy a ticket on the car ticket counter)

7:45 Songtheaw to Bus Stop in Baan Saen Tung. 50B No bargainig was needed to this cheap price for the approx. 25km to Baan Saen Tung. It should be noted that we were in the back of the mob leaving the pier area and in the early morning there were more songtheaws than people looking for a ride. We told the driver that we wanted to go to Chantaburi as we already planned our journy to Siem Reap. He gave us the helpful hint that starting in Baan Saen Tung is far easier.

8:30 Public Bus 2nd class to Sakaew 169B Nobody speaks English. But by pointing on our map we got the correct tickets. The bus arrived 10 minutes late, bud had aircon.

9:30 Pit stop in Chantaburi for people hop on or off. Restrooms at Chantaburi bus station available.

10:00 Bus continues the journy to Sakaew. During the drive Transformers 2 movie was played with a horrible loudness and dubbed in Thai.

13:00 Arrive at sakeaw bus station and directly switch to the bus to aranyaprathet. 35B

14:10 Arrive at aranyaprathet. Take a tuk tuk. 50B

14:25 Arrive at "checkpoint". Although you have an evisa you are advised to fill out the arrival/departure cards and get it stamped (we didn't ask for the price).

Thai emigration Health control Cambodia immigration (you get and can fill out the dep/arrival cards here too, officially!

15:00 shared ride with locals 20 usd + 200B provision

16:00 change car in sisophon. Pay 1st driver 10 USD 17:30 arrive in siem reap at a petrol station. Pay 2nd driver 10 USD. Picked up by another guy offering taxi, tour guide services and suggesting a hotel. 18:00 arrive at suggested hotel. 10 USD per night for a good fan room.

We have got new page banners for Ko Chang from the Wiki Loves Earth competition, and discuss a potential replacement. New banners are superior in quality, although they do not show the island itself. You can join our discussion or add your opinion here. --Alexander (talk) 15:58, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I vote for 55. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 01:58, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
