The article suggests paying 80 RMB for a candle to send floating down a river. Is there some reason for such a high price? I'd be offering 5. (WT-en) Pashley 09:49, 9 November 2006 (EST)

Tiger Leaping Gorge[edit]

An attraction rather than a destination. I have copied the text here to the nearest town, Lijiang, which was the only page linking to this. (WT-en) Pashley 09:59, 9 November 2006 (EST)

Outcome: redirected to Lijiang. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 12:08, 25 November 2006 (EST)

It has since been re-created and is now a substantial itinerary. Of course that should be kept. (WT-en) Pashley 11:43, 21 August 2009 (EDT)

DotM?[edit]

This was nominated for DotM some time back & the nomination was slushed: Wikivoyage:Destination_of_the_month_candidates/Slush_pile#Lijiang. In principle, it would be a good nominee since it is quite scenic, one of China's more popular destinations, and on a popular route Yunnan tourist trail. However, it needs work before it could be re-nominated. Most of it I cannot do; I have not been there in about a decade.

The main problem mentioned in the slushing was lack of geo co-ordinates for various places. Looking now, it appears to me Eat & Drink could use a few more listings, while Sleep might need pruning & certainly needs dead links dealt with. Quite likely there also are problems I missed.
