I'm 99% sure that John Denver grew up in Roswell and Aspen, per WikiPedia:John Denver. --(WT-en) Evan 19:12, 12 Feb 2004 (EST)

Ha![edit]

John Denver is a Texas Tech University graduate. He did not grow up in Lubbock. Most folks in Lubbock know that, but "others" don't. ;)

Actually he dropped out from tech.66.209.247.72 00:37, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

Great edits[edit]

So, I'm happy to see that there's so much work going on on this page. I've made some changes to move data out to other articles when appropriate. I've also changed some wiki links to plain text (see Project:What is an article? and I've un-bolded a lot of text for clarity (see Project:Use boldface to call out important topics).

I hope this growth spurt continues! --(WT-en) Evan 08:47, 1 Sep 2005 (EDT)

locals know best[edit]

I was not pleased with the original article and decided to add a few things. Lubbock is a interesting little town with plenty of secrets and lots of history which permeates everything... And, yes - There is plenty to do in this city. You have to look first of all.

That's great! This article is particularly weak on restaurants, hotels, and nightlife in Lubbock. I think there's also a lot of work that can be done on laying out a framework for the rest of the Panhandle. --(WT-en) Evan 13:50, 2 Sep 2005 (EDT)

...bit(s) more[edit]

Have less time than I had hoped to finish this little project. Uploaded a picture of 4th on Broadway, and will add more pictures of Lubbock. Especially Texas Tech and Lubbock Lake - soon! --(WT-en) Apotheosist 13:43, 14 Sep 2005 (EDT)

...bits more[edit]

helping roommate out - cleaning up some stuff - more info on education ... real important to us folks in lubbock - moved the cactus pic to top of page .. had to figure out how to format it though --- thanks

Rollback[edit]

I just rolled back a large number of contributions from one anonymous user-- they seemed snarky comments at best and, while there may have been some value to some of the edits, it didn't follow our Project:Manual of style suggested tone. (WT-en) Maj 17:13, 17 January 2007 (EST)

Updates June 2020[edit]

Oops, I made numerous updates without logging in. It seemed like it needed it though since links were boken, etc.

Merely a freedom of panorama issue, but there are no photos in this article at all, which is the real problem. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:38, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I guess we have to then locally upload it. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 06:59, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Only if we want to put it in the article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:54, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Whirlwind controversy[edit]

Why is the Whirlwind series considered controversial? There is no mention of this on Wikipedia and a Google Search only returned one relevant article, but many of the other sculptures could be considered equally controversial (similar to much of any works of art anywhere): [1] [2] [3].
