Ideas[edit]

  • Need picture of harbor/Mayflower II
  • Would like to do another suggested drive like "To the south" for:
  • going west out of town into the state forest via Summer St, with a side trip to see Morton Park and Billington Sea (it's been a while since I've been out that way)
  • and north into North Plymouth and Cordage villages.
Hello! Thank you for all of your great work on the Plymouth page! It is really shaping up under your stewardship.
I will be the first one to admit I don't really understand the policies around here, but from what I can see it looks like all the "Driving itineraries" on the page are, uh, let's say "non-conforming". Have a look at Wikivoyage:Itineraries if you like, but I didn't find it that helpful. Basically what it's saying (I think) is that all the "Driving" content should be moved to live under Carver, or Plympton, or wherever. UNLESS you want to make a Driving the Irish Riviera itinerary that is basically all the cool stuff along Route 3A. But I think there are also opinions about whether or not roads (or bits of roads) are deserving of itinerary pages, so I would ask about that.
To sum up: you should delete the content under "Driving", or (preferably), move it to wherever it lives. For example create a listing for Widgeon Pond in the town where it is located. (Could just be Plymouth?). This will be a pain. If you want, ask at the pub if an itinerary along a segment of US Route 3A is cool to have. Or just do it if you have the time and inclination.
Also, you should sign your posts with 4 tildes (~~~~), it makes it easier to figure out who said what.
Thank you again for all your fantastic work! --ButteBag (talk) 00:57, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for the feedback and advice! I had checked out the "itineraries" page as well and also found it pretty unhelpful. I'm thinking to clean up the Plymouth page I'll pull the driving section out and mention any highlights/landmarks mentioned in sections where they are actually located - I think a lot of these are already in their respective see/do/eat categories anyway. I can see a bigger Boston-Cape Cod 3A south shore itinerary being created for those so inclined but that sounds like a project for a different time and place. Thanks again (and for the signature protip)! Allegro8032 (talk) 17:02, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Thanks again for your edits. Let me know if you'd like me to do a little mos cleanup sometime. There are so many rules here it's impossible to learn them all. On the flip-side however, everything always ladders up to tcf, so if you do anything in good faith, it's the right move. --ButteBag (talk) 22:49, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Section Edits/Cleanup[edit]

  • I've gone through this page and done a lot of clean-up work, re-organizing, and adding/removing work on the listings to try and hit the most uniquely Plymouth aspects for potential travelers. If anyone with more wikivoyage editing experience has any suggestions on missing sections or ones that need more fleshing out, please let me know as I have gotten to a point where I think I've pretty much covered most of it but am happy to do some more re-tooling if any of these sections read as incomplete or weak. I've also taken my best stab at sticking with the mos but I'm sure there are items that could use improvement there or some things I've missed after re-reading it too many times. Thank you again for all your work on this article! I think it's safe to say no one on here knows as much about Plymouth as you do! I'll do a few minor mos things, but I think you got most of it. --ButteBag (talk) 17:18, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks really good! The only other thing you could do is split up the See section a little more. You're only "supposed" to have 5-9 things in a section. Maybe Plymouth Plantation could be a subhead? You could do it like a complex attraction? Like how I did Quincy Market for example. Or not. Whatever you think makes the most sense and gets things into the 5-9 count. --ButteBag (talk) 17:34, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Good point! Maybe I can group the Plantation-owned attractions into one section. I'll take a look at it. Allegro8032 (talk) 16:54, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so I think I came up with a good subcategory solution, especially since the list was long on old houses. Allegro8032 (talk) 17:10, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
