Merge with Lake Taupo?

Should this article be merged with the Lake Taupo article?

The lake itself is not so much a destination as an attraction and perhaps the page should be developed as such. Along the lines of the Mount St. Helens, Mount Rushmore pages possibly? This would leave the towns/settlements pages ie. Taupo, Turangi to provide information on accomodation, activities etc. in the relevent locations.

Motels

I've moved the following from a Taupo Motels page-- we don't create article for sections. We also like to offer people a short list of recommendations-- it is not one of our goals to be a yellow pages. It would be great if this guide featured 7-9 hotels in each budget range. Think of the places you'd send your friends and family-- you don't just give them an A-Z list. Anyway, this guide is coming along great, but this will make it even better. Internet Cafes?

Should there be an internet cafe section at the bottom with a basic list of services it provides? After all tourists (who would be more interested in a page like this) would need a statement of where they can access reliable secure systems to upload photos and email people while being in taupo, staying eating doing all of the things listed before internet cafes are listed.

Poor banner

I agree - maybe the banner is an attempt to show that the water is so clear that you can see the bottom of the Lake. I think it would be better to crop the source image File:Lake Taupo 1.jpg to show the shoreline, or find another picture. AlasdairW (talk) 19:48, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

I have replaced the banner with a picture that I took from the lakeside, but feel free to revert it or change to something else if you disagree. AlasdairW (talk) 20:42, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
