Ikebukuro or Toshima[edit]

"Ikebukuro" has been recognized as a major place name to many Japanese in the same way as "Akihabara".

Most Japanese don't have a image of the Toshima. --(WT-en) Kambayashi10:11, 16 August 2011

Yes., but does it make sense to combine both in one article? So combining Toshima and Ikebukuro and then naming it Ikebukuro, is that appropriate? --(WT-en) globe-trotter 10:01, 16 August 2011 (EDT)
Toshima is one of the Tokyo's 23 special wards. Ikebukuro is one of the areas in Toshima. I don't think you should combine both in one article. --(WT-en) Kambayashi

User:Jpatokal: I believe merging (Toshima into Ikebukuro) is helpful from a traveller point of view and I've seen a discussion was started years back. A quick glance gives the idea that it was agreed to merge both into one. But I'm not sure why the merging was never progressed. --Saqib (talk) 11:40, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Because people are lazy and the districting of Tokyo is such a hard problem. But I'd say go for it! Jpatokal (talk) 22:41, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
