Scrambled dates (not a recipe!)[edit]

I think this article currently has far more history than it needs. I'd be inclined to edit it, but cannot because much of what's there does not make sense to me.

  • Current text says the town is 900 years old but also mentions what its name was in the Spring and Autumn Period, which was several hundred BCE. At the very least, this needs a rewrite to make it clear.
  • Another part has "during the Yuan Dynasty (1860)". Is that a typo for 1360, or should it be the Qing Dynasty, since they ruled in 1860?

There is quite a bit of basically good content here, but I'd say the article really needs help. Volunteers? Pashley (talk) 00:18, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Several years have gone by & these problems are still visible. Pashley (talk) 15:35, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Star ratings?[edit]

The article currently describes several hotels as 3-star or 4-star. What does that mean in this context. Can it be made specific, like "rated by ... as 4-star"? If not' I'd say delete the ratings.

If you take a conservative definition (see Rating systems) where three star is "Well-appointed establishment, with full services and amenities", then places like Le Meridien or Shangrila are 4-star. Pashley (talk) 19:37, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Metro?[edit]

w:Line 11 (Shanghai Metro) now goes to Kunshan. Does it stop in or near Zhouzhuang? Can we add directions for reaching Z by metro then taxi or bus? Pashley (talk) 15:38, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, actually the metro station (Huaqiao Station) is about 44km from Zhouzhuang. Nonetheless, according to Baidu Maps, there is actually a direct bus to Zhouzhuang from the station. It's Kunshuan Tourist Route No. 7 (昆山游7路). I'll add it myself tomorrow (unless you do it first). STW932 (talk) 16:01, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
