Welcome[edit]

Hello E-business! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. Thanks for contributing! We have a introductory page for business owners--please take a minute to read it before going on with your edits.

What's most important when adding your properties to the listings are: be fair and don't tout.

Your recent changes to Berjaya Hotel in the Singapore/Chinatown article looks very much like an advertisement. Wikivoyage strives to avoid being an "advertising brochure" for any business, city, or service--so we have reverted your text to describe the establishment rather than trying to sell it to a reader. I would recommend to read Project:Don't tout article before your future edits--and we would happy to see you back editing here but also respecting our guidelines ;-)

Please don't tout. (WT-en) Jpatokal 03:57, 21 January 2009 (EST)

Really. (WT-en) Jpatokal 23:43, 22 January 2009 (EST)
Really. Do you want us to blacklist all Berjaya hotels? (WT-en) Jpatokal 01:14, 3 February 2009 (EST)

Reverts[edit]

Hi E-business! Thanks for your edits, but unfortunately they have been reverted en-masse due to violation of the Wikivoyage don't tout guideline. When you change a review that was clearly written by travelers into marketing language, and particularly when you use first-person pronouns like "our hotel" or "we welcome you", it goes against one of our non-goals, namely we don't want to be an advertising brochure. This site is meant for travelers, not businesses, and while we welcome business owners we do ask that they respect the guidelines and tone of the site. You're welcome to re-create some of your hotel entries, but please read the aforementioned policies first. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 00:33, 21 October 2009 (EDT)

Hi E-business, you seem not to read you talk page. Jani and Ryan politely told you to stop your marketing work. Stop it or you will be blocked and Berjaya hotels will come on the blacklist. I will revert all your entries and please follow the rules. (WT-en) jan 04:15, 27 October 2009 (EDT)
