Hello!

Welcome to Wikivoyage. You can edit your preferences to change how the software works for you. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to our wiki software, MediaWiki, look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to edit a page. If you need help, check out the help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for your work so far on Indian destinations; looking forward to more information from your travels! --(WT-en) Evan 13:04, 26 November 2006 (EST)

Content and Style[edit]

While we want to be honest, the consensus is not to create negative sections like "Don't" telling people where not to go. It's better to include a fair description of the place in the "Do" listing, and let people decide for themselves whether it sounds like it's worth their time. Some people actually like tourist traps. Also, avoid using first-person comments in the articles (e.g. "I didn't get sick!") Since no one person writes a Wikivoyage article, saying "I" (or even "we") doesn't make sense, because it doesn't apply to everyone who worked on the article. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 08:31, 31 May 2007 (EDT)
