Hello, anonymous editor using the IP address of 1.120.150.75 ![edit]

Hello, 1.120.150.75! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. sats (talk) 05:47, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for providing such helpful background in so many articles. Keep up the good work! Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:25, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I just thanked you, but what are you doing in the Kenya article? You need to try to get a consensus behind your claim that it's the most diverse country in Africa. The way to do that is to make a specific argument at Talk:Kenya, not to delete the information you posted that is not controversial. Please keep contributing, but also, please be collegial and engage in discussions. This isn't an adversarial process but a process of discussion. Please do not edit war. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And now you're vandalizing the Mexico article by deleting a whole bunch of text for no reason? I'm sorry, but if you continue that, it will be necessary to suspend your account. Please stop that now. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:29, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I deeply regret having had to block your account for 2 hours. Please continue contributing and stop these bizarre, vandalistic deletions. Thank you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:16, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being so observant and trying to explain to this anonymous IP editor the advantages of using article discussion pages, Ikan Kekek! --W. Franke-mailtalk 12:08, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
1.120.150.75, please explain this deletion. I appreciate your contributions and would greatly prefer not to block your account again. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:14, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your account has been blocked again, this time for 4 hours, due to strange edits, including the ones in the Kenya article. Your access to your user talk page has not been blocked, however. Please explain what's going on: Most of your edits are great, but if you continue arbitrarily deleting good content without explanation, including some that you have put up, it's hard to know what better option we admins have than blocking your account. Can you please help us? Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:01, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I reverted this edit for being complete nonsense. Please respond here to these and some other questionable edits you've made. Globe-trotter (talk) 09:40, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violations[edit]

For a time I was impressed by the scope of your "encyclopaedic" contributions covering such a wide geographic area - if not by your (lack of) communication.

Please do NOT copy and paste wodges of text here from Wikpedia (or anywhere else) without the requisite attribution. --W. Franke-mailtalk 20:33, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's not quite so egregious if you use smaller portions from Wikipedia but you still need to give proper attribution! --W. Franke-mailtalk 20:44, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please either give proper attribution or re-word the facts in the articles you have pasted unchanged material to or remove all these violations as I have just done here. --W. Franke-mailtalk 20:55, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New copyright violation?[edit]

Please explain why the text you added with this edit is word for word identical with the second paragraph here: http://www.experiencequeensland.com/iss/uk/travel-info/climate--weather/

??? --W. Frankemailtalk 10:15, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As a result of this new instance of copyright violation, this IP and 4 other IPs you have been using (124.186.241.240, 58.164.158.55, 123.211.111.136, 2.33.233.119) have been blocked for 3 days. When you come back in 3 days, I hope you finally stop copying and pasting text from anywhere, but most especially stop copying and pasting from sites with standard copyrights. If you start posting on yet another IP and continue violating copyright, your first offense from the new IP is likely to be treated harshly. We prefer not to waste our time playing games of Whack a Mole here, but would prefer to engage in a dialogue with you, about this and other things. We can't do that by talking to ourselves, though: You have to participate. Failing that, we have to continue to operate based on your conduct. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:34, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Listings[edit]

Hi. I doubt you're reading this, but just in the unlikely event you are: While your insertion of "See" listings is appreciated, it would be a heck of a lot more helpful to use the appropriate template and include more than just the name of the place. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:42, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider registering a user account[edit]

I see that you also use another Brisbane, Australia IP address: Special:Contributions/124.186.241.240, yes?

Welcome to Wikivoyage.

Thank you for your interesting contributions to a huge and eclectic variety of articles using material from Wikipedia.

To help you contribute, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and our house style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

It would be great if you would create your own user account on Wikivoyage because it would then provide you with various benefits:

  1. easier communication with other writers about your edits and travel tips via your very own User Talk page
  2. a choice to set the default size thumbnail images will display at (in your user Preferences)
  3. credit for your travel writing and edits, which will then all be attributed to you rather than just an IP address
  4. your contributions will become more trusted as you become familiar to other Wikivoyagers as a frequent editor with a history they can check
  5. you'll not need to pass a recaptcha test each time you add an external link

If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. We're looking forward to seeing you again here on Wikivoyage as a registered user! --W. Franke-mailtalk 12:40, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Enough is enough[edit]

As you must know by this point, Wikivoyage administrators have been trying to get in touch with you regarding your inappropriate edits. These include but are not limited to: a) unconstructive and irrelevant additions to destination articles, such as section headings with no content and vague, unexplained and completely worthless additions of listings; b) edit warring on Wikivoyage:Mapmaking Expedition; and, which is most offensive to us, c) completely ignoring the messages we've been leaving on the talk pages of your various anonymous IP addresses.

When a message is left on a user's talk page, a large orange banner and the words "You have a new message" appear on the top of the screen after login. We have left countless messages on your talk pages and even blocked you a few times, so we have no choice but to assume at this point that you are ignoring us willfully. Enough is enough. We have had our fill of cleaning up after you, and we are thus compelled to take more drastic measures in dealing with your vandalism.

This message serves as your final warning before things escalate further. The next time any edit is made other than a response to this message that addresses the concerns of our community and explains your behavior from any of the IP addresses you've used thus far (1.120.3.182, 1.120.150.75, 2.33.233.119, 58.164.158.55, 123.211.111.136, 124.177.165.57, 124.186.241.240, and 124.187.103.207), or from any other IP address or account whose editing patterns match yours, we will block all IP addresses and accounts you are known to have used for escalating periods of time.

Let it be perfectly clear to you: WE REGARD YOUR PATTERN OF EDITING, AND YOUR REFUSAL TO RESPOND TO TALK PAGE MESSAGES LEFT FOR YOU BY OTHER USERS, AS WILLFUL VANDALISM. WIKIVOYAGE DOES NOT TOLERATE VANDALISM. IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE EDITING ON WIKIVOYAGE, *PLEASE* RESPOND TO TALK PAGE MESSAGES AND CONFORM YOUR EDITS TO OUR POLICY.

Good day.

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
