Hello and welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a look at Welcome, business owners and Project:Don't tout.

Wikivoyage is not meant to be a yellow pages, nor an advertising brochure, so please do not add listings for your business that have flowery, promotional language or that lack any useful information, in particular price ranges for rooms. Also do not list your listing more than once, and do not list it in a city other than the one it actually is in. Lastly, please, oh please, do not include the city, state, and zip code in the address field. Think about it, there is absolutely no reason to do so, since the article name should indicate what city it is in.

Edits that do not follow these guidelines will be reverted. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 01:19, 30 April 2009 (EDT)

Additionally, please read Project:What is an article?. Single attractions don't get articles of their own, only listings in the one article covering the most specific geographical location. - (WT-en) Dguillaime 16:21, 22 October 2009 (EDT)
Hi - our general rule is that listings added by hotel chain marketers are immediately reverted when they do not meet Wikivoyage standards - in this case, please provide price info, avoid promotional language and follow Project:Words to avoid. See also Project:Accomodation listings. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 16:16, 14 December 2009 (EST)
SEO has our most up-to-date guidelines that are relevant for you. Edits not in compliance with those guidelines will be reverted. If you have questions feel free to ask here or on your user talk page, once you create one. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 10:30, 21 April 2010 (EDT)
Please note that any edits made from this IP address are being immediately reverted. Once you have read and understand the policies mentioned above, particularly SEO, please leave a message on this talk page or (preferably) create a user account and begin using it. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 13:01, 28 April 2010 (EDT)

Block[edit]

I have blocked you for a day, with the aim of getting you to read your talk page. You've had a year and a half to figure out how Wikivoyage works, and to see that we just undo your marketing edits as soon as you make them. I'm inclined to revert anything you do on sight until you actually respond here and clarify both your aims and how you plan to bring them in line with Wikivoyage policies and purpose. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 18:53, 27 August 2010 (EDT)

Hello,
I was unaware of all of the rules and guidelines before I began creating/editing listings. I have read the article about Project TOUT and the proper format the listings should be in. Moving forward, I will follow these guidelines when creating/editing listings.
Thank you! —The preceding comment was added by 151.193.220.28 (talkcontribs)
Please be aware that due to ongoing problems with hotel marketing organizations, the Wikivoyage:Don't tout policy is being changed to forbid marketers from adding new hotel listings to articles. You will be able to fix incorrect URLs or phone numbers on existing listings, but due to inherent conflicts of interest, marketers will no longer be permitted to add new listings. See Wikivoyage_talk:Don't_tout#Hotel_marketers_2 for the discussion that led to this change, and note that the new policy is likely to be implemented very, very soon. -- Ryan • (talk) • 17:15, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to re-iterate that Wikivoyage policies do not allow hotel marketers to add new listings or to update non-subjective information. You can fix phone numbers or URLs, but continuing to add new listings or to change property descriptions is not appropriate. -- Ryan • (talk) • 14:53, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Since marketing content continues to be added from this account I've blocked it from editing again, this time for a week. -- Ryan • (talk) • 19:56, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
