You're welcome ... I wanted people to be able to relate to it, so I tried to include as much reference to actual situations as possible.

Whatever one thinks of CNN, the fact is that they are the only international news outlet with a brand name as recognizable worldwide as the BBC, and have been around for a long time. It's a reality that most of the time, when cooped up in a hotel room abroad, I will get my TV news from either of those two. I wrote that to reflect reality, not make any endorsement.

Qatar may well be a de facto English-speaking country, but they still have Arabic as their official language. Daniel Case (talk) 18:34, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to explain your thinking, Daniel and, upon reflection, I think you're sadly correct that CNN has both better brand recognition and penetration than Al Jazeera English - especially amongst international hotels. --222.127.76.207 00:41, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
