West Australian old articles[edit]

dont seem to have the right order in format - with understand out of sync - something to do with migration from the older style article? sats (talk) 15:26, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seems ok to me. Before you make many more changes take a look at this. The template puts Understand after the cities/other Destination heading. - Cardboardbird (talk) 15:42, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
yeah - quite inconsistent between article types (I wonder if anyone thought the order out... for different types of articles or whether it happened by accident - have a look at destinations template) viz http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Wikivoyage:Article_templates - some of the templates need a check like most things... thsnks for pointing that out... sats (talk) 23:34, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you - for your support for the change to the Perth regions (I work in the Swan Valley and realise it has a large amount of things that could be elaborated on).

btw I was very dissapointed by a revert reaction to some comments I made at The Coast (aka the Beaches) article - obviously my penchant for putting thr wrong words in my foot so to speak hit... It would be good if you could have a look? sats (talk) 10:14, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK - the point is the general proposal for changing was at the talk page at - http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Talk:Western_Australia So my edits on the contents is not the preferred order - If I understand your reversion just now - and the comments in february - is that it is better to populate with articles made for the localities in great southern area before doing a change in the regions? In the past the Albany/great southern region has never been ever in any tourist information ever south west, the recent tourism western australia region idea of conflating albany and bunbury is just a little too radical, I think.

To clarify - what I am trying to ask - is in between a range of other edits on other subjects - do you think it is better to create articles and components first that sit inside the misnomer (great southern localities in the south west container) and then later change the state regions so that the south west and great southern are separated - or is it better to change it first? On wp en - there are some generally unwritten accepted lines of logic and behaviour to create and populate a category first, then if at a later date it has to be changed to then change the higher up the tree denomination - however if we are here to make readable accessible information for tourists - maybe it is better to change the regions first? I await your comments sats (talk) 13:47, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say the most important guideline is that the traveller comes first. Having destination articles with extensive high quality information is far more useful to the traveller than a perfect region structure. Organising Albany in Great Southern or South West doesn't matter much to a traveller if the page has hardly any info on what to see, do, eat or where to sleep in Albany. Focus your energy on making informative pages and worry about organising later. Keep it up, WA needs all the editors it can get :) - Cardboardbird (talk) 14:42, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK I hear your point of view - (on wp en I have very high percentage talk page ed history due to getting arts into various projects) - I also have serious issues with some of the very general flowery weasel word carp in the wa arts as they stand - apart from disbelief at the tourism wa decision to create such bizarro regions. (mind you if you check some outsiders guide books on wa - take footprint for instance - inland wa doesnt exist at all :) Content about some east sleep and do in some localities is much easier than others, I will see how i go... cheers sats (talk) 14:51, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File:Inner-Perth-map.svg[edit]

I see you are the original author of File:Inner-Perth-map.png. Can you post a copy of the source file you made - presumably File:Inner-Perth-map.svg? I want to make a few adjustments to it. Thanks Ar2332 (talk) 17:34, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
