Hello, DewiSandra! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. sats (talk) 03:38, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributions to the Lombok articles[edit]

Hi Sandra, it is understood that you are likely disappointed by the removal of your listing from the Senaru. Mount Rinjani and Lombok articles.

It is also understood that your are a new contributor to the Wikivoyage project and that some of the guidelines may appear restrictive or irksome. Please do understand that the project's guidelines have taken a long time to evolve and they must encompass a ride range of conflicting needs and carry a good number of burdens.

Some articles attract a lot of attention from people who are often quite keen to provide commercial listings for their business activities. The Mount Rinjani article fortunately does not receive the attention that some do but it does certainly bear a history.
When an article attracts what are sometimes quite unhelpful contributions it requires a lot more attention and effort from the editors that oversee it. The Mount Rinjani article is at times problematic, and that is one of the reasons the policy guidelines are applied there with some focussed care.
If it feels like you are being excluded from the article then that is regretable, perhaps it would be better to understand that at this time your listing is just not being included, and for the reasons outlined already elsewhere.

Your multiple listings were deleted elsewhere for other reasons, also already explained.
It has also been mentioned elsewhere that tour guides are generally not listed in the articles. That policy has evolved from necessity and you will note from the guidelines they are only ever included under some quite narrowly defined circumstances.
It is noted that your contributions were seemingly in good faith, also you made some other small but constructive edits to the Senaru article.

Please do understand that you are entirely welcome here as a contributor, either to any of those articles or any other that you may be interested in contributing to.
You are clearly enthusiastic about the destination and your own involvement in it. So if you wish to develop the regional articles then do so. If these articles assist in informing the traveller and in building interest and understanding of the destination that may bear it's own subtle rewards for Andreas' expedition. There is plenty of scope for any of the regions articles to improve.
You must however make sure you understand the MoS and avoid any 1st person commentary or any language that appears touting. Lively writing is however encouraged.
I hope you do understand and thank you for your contributions to the Senaru article concerning day trips, please don't hesitate to contribute further if you wish to. Best wishes also for your future business success on Rinjani. -- Felix (talk) 19:12, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
