Hello, Gac1986! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Please read xl only primary links are allowed. Regards, jan (talk) 11:44, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jan, My first two edits are gone. Would love to know why since it is my first time here. —The preceding comment was added by Gac1986 (talkcontribs)
Hi, please sign entries on talk pages with the four~~~~ to generate your signature. Please use chronological writing. I reverted your linke because in our external links policy we only link to primary sites (e.g. Star Alliance, Oneworld or Airlines) who offer rtw. We don't want links to third parties. jan (talk) 12:19, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see. In any case there were other editions not related to any link. Would love to know what is a primary site since Star Alliance or one world do not directly provide RTW TKT. Thank you. Gac1986 (talk) 12:33, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • A, OW do offer rtw tickets. Of course they are issued by an individual airline but most have bundled the booking tools with their alliance. Primary sites are therefore business who actually issue/operate rtw tickets. E.g. Air Newzealand offer that product on its route, so you could link to them. Secondary links are links to pages like expedia which are agents/broker who make a margin by selling rtws. We want direct business, so no touts earn money with travellers. As your added page doesn't offer rtw tickets, it can't stay. We prefer to have visual infos about rtw routes on our sites. You are welcome to create maps (we do have dynamic maps as well) to help travelers find the optimal way around the globe. jan (talk) 13:16, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dynamic maps? Cool! Where? Gac1986 (talk) 17:26, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
