Kalbarri National Park[edit]

Hi, Jason!

I see you've started a new article, thanks for that. Ikan Kekek didn't put the standard greeting on this talk page, which would've included a couple of links of interest for newcomers. So here it comes:

Hello, JasonHall! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

I say this because the article needs to be arranged a little bit to conform to our standard. You can do it yourself: 1. copy your text from the article's editing window into a text file on your computer, 2. copy and paste this into the editing window (replacing the text you had there), 3. copy the text from the text file back, and put the text sections under the appropriate headers, 4. and you're done! Also, the name of the article should be written Kalbarri National Park (and no "Australia" at the end, as I assume there are no other known Kalbarri National Parks in the world?). I can move it for you.

Other than that, once more, welcome to Wikivoyage :) ϒpsilon (talk) 20:08, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've cleaned up the article a bit now. ϒpsilon (talk) 21:02, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When and where to list[edit]

Hi, Jason. I appreciate your transparency on your user page and would like to allow you a bit of latitude. However, it's important to remain within the don't tout, external links and welcome, business owners guidelines. Normally, specific listings, including listings for car rental agencies, are not appropriate for regional articles. In city or district articles, car rental agencies normally aren't listed if it's easy to find a rental car in that city or district. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:03, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are ignoring edit summaries and edit warring. I really don't want to have to temporarily suspend your account, but that may become necessary if you continue this way and don't instead engage in discussions. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:03, 26 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry! I did not notice any of these messages- I will keep the guidelines in mind- I saw another car hire company do the same thing, so thought it was permissable. My apologies. Thanks!JasonHall

But now, you've posted a series of 1st-person advertisements. All are being reverted. And please alert us to where the advertisements we've missed are, so we can revert those, too. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:39, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When I read the welcome business owners section, it said you could add a listing?? I thought that sounded like it was being encouraged... my mistake. I read it as that was the preferred way to add a link to a business? Please explain to me what adding a listing is, then- thank you! JasonHall

Yes, you can add a listing, but it must be descriptive, not promotional, and not in the 1st person. If you read the guidelines on how not to tout, they will explain this clearly, I believe. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:47, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
