Hello and welcome to Wikivoyage. I'm sorry your user page had to be deleted. Please read don't tout, tour, and welcome business owners to see why and get a feel for some of the core policies of this non-commercial site. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:38, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Let me know what went wrong here? —The preceding comment was added by TravelAust (talkcontribs)
Please read the three links I gave you. Promotional posts are not allowed anywhere on this site, including on user pages. You can identify yourself, but you cannot promote your business. That's probably even more true of tours, which can rarely even be listed in articles on this site. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:51, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll make sure this does not happen, now please let me know how can I recover my page back where in I can posts something about myself. —The preceding comment was added by TravelAust (talkcontribs)

Go ahead and post something there, just try to keep it within the guidelines. Also, on talk pages like this one, please sign your posts by typing 4 tildes (the ~ key) in a row at the end. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:09, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Let me know how it is know? Your help would be appreciated, also please let me know if I can leave my address at the end? TravelAust (talk) 10:17, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Ravi[reply]

No, it's still promotional. I think it's OK for you to identify yourself and give a link to your website, but I'm not sure all others will agree. But you need to edit out the promotional tone. I would delete this page, too, if you weren't in a dialogue with me. Don't be shocked if another admin deletes it (or if I do if the page is still promotional the next time I look at it in several hours or more). Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:36, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So, you mean that I can sound a little like me and then leave a link to my website? correct? TravelAust (talk) 10:39, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Ravi[reply]

Perhaps, but not a "stealth" link like you have now. Linking "Australia" to your travel agency is not OK. But please understand, we are all volunteers here, and this site is not for the purpose of advertising, so just do whatever you're going to do, keeping in mind that if in the opinion of anyone who can delete a page, it constitutes touting, it will be deleted. Here's an example of a tour company operator's page that is acceptable:

I am Grace Ke, running my own tour company in China since 2007. Before that, I spent ten years as a licensed guide in China for Western tourists. I have also guided Chinese groups abroad.
I am based in Fuzhou but my company also has an office in Yunnan. Tours to Tibet and the Tibetan-speaking areas of Sichuan and Yunnan are a specialty.
Company web site

There is no irritating hype and most links are to our articles. There is one link to her company site, and that is clearly labelled. Pashley (talk) 17:41, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm deleting your user page again for violating this site's anti-touting policy. It was very nice of Pashley to give you specific advice. Please apply it in the next version of your user page. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:01, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
