Whangamata is a beachside town on the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand.

  • Intercity.co.nz. 2 buses a day 07:50 and 13:15 (3 hrs travel time) Auckland to Waihi (Waihi is 30km away) $24 incl fees (09) 623 1503 (wait forever on hold) $25 at the terminal, leaves from Skytower
  • go kiwi shuttle 0800 446 549 - $73 door to door Auckland to Whangamata.
  • NakedBus.com same as intercity (just to Waihi) $26 incl fees OR MORE, first seats are cheapest, leaves from 172 Quay St -- at 12:40 -- 0800 474448 agent "4 sightseeing"
