Siikalatva is a municipality in the Southern Oulu region. It was created in 2009 through the fusion of the four municipalities of Kestilä, Piippola, Pulkkila and Rantsila.

By car[edit]
The main roads going through the area are Highway 4 between Oulu and Jyväskylä and highway 88 between Raahe and Iisalmi.
By bus[edit]
Buses along Highway 4 stop at Siikalatva. In addition there are buses from Haapajärvi, Raahe, Haapavesi and Kuopio.

- 1 The geographical centre of Finland (Leskelä village). This is the centre of gravity (including islands but not the sea). The official monument is at a crossroads, right next to highway 4 in Leskelä village of Siikalatva municipality. The true point is a bit off the road, in a swamp. If you take the mean of the extreme latitudes and longitudes, you end up in Liminka instead.
