Somerset is a town in Massachusetts. It is a small rural town next to Fall River and Swansea.

Get in

By car

The town is accessed by Interstate 195, which enters the town by crossing the Braga Bridge from Fall River. It is also connected to Fall River by the Brightman Street Bridge, a bridge which US Route 6 crosses. Right now, a replacement bridge is being built which was halted after scandals of the construction company (A poor grade of cement was used for the support poles. They got caught and had to start over.) Route 138 and Route 103 also go through the town.

By plane

Logan Airport is also available 55 miles away for international traveling. New Bedford (18 miles away) also has a regional airport. There was once an airport in Fall River, but it was closed due to various issues.

People with children may want to check out the town beach. There is a big, red slide for youngsters, and those young at heart, that is approximately 200 feet in length. Somerset is also filled with tons of after school programs, extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, and organizations to keep kids and adults busy. There is also a bowling alley in town that has resurfaced the boards of the lane synthetically.

Buy

There are no large shopping establishments in Somerset. The closest mall, Swansea Mall, is a town over from Somerset, and approximately a 5 minute drive away. Somerset has a Stop and Shop for all your grocery needs, as well as an Auclair's Market if you're looking for some choice meats, marinated eats, pub burgers, beer & wine etc. There is a Blockbuster Video in town for all your movie needs.
