Go from Clara to Tullamore and on to Portarlington by train which are all on the Dublin to Galway/Westport line.

- Charleville Forest Castle in Tullamore is a Gothic building surrounded by ancient oaks.
- Lough Boora is an extensive wetland and wildlife wilderness. Within it, Sculpture in the Parklands is a 50-acre sculpture park.
