Less than 10 kn from the A60 along a twisting steep road or along the B9 following the left bank of the Rhine.

By train

Boppard station is on the West Rhine Railway (Linke Rheinstrecke) line between Mainz and Cologne.

By boat

The Köln-Düsseldorfer Rheinschiffahrt, known as KD, runs scheduled services up and down the river between Cologne and Mainz.

Cruise companies such as Viking stop in the town.
