The bishops' palace.

Brixen (Italian: Bressanone) is a town in South Tyrol. In 1027-1803 it was the centre of the Prince-Bishopric of Brixen, an ecclesiastical state within the Holy Roman Empire.

  • 1 Brixen Cathedral (Dom). A small but richly decorated cathedral. The present building is from the 18th century.
  • 2 Hofburg (Palazzo Vescovile). The bishops' palace, an impressive Renaissance residence.
  • 3 St. Michael's Church (Pfarrkirche St. Michael). A modest but beautiful gothic church next to the cathedral.
