Óbuda (lit. Old Buda) is in Budapest.

Understand

Old Buda (Óbuda officially called Óbuda-Békásmegyer) is the entire 3rd district, the core around Kolossy square Protected Area, with lot of centuries-old buildings. In the east Danube, and IV. and XIII. district is bounded. In the south and southwest by the II. district the Mount area (Hegyvidék), in northwest Solymar and Üröm in north Budakalasz its neighbors. Belongs to its field the Óbuda Island as well. The district center: Florian Square and the Main Square

Batthyány square, an important transport hub toward Óbuda
  • Here is not any metro station, but there is suburban train line (HÉV5 or 5:), which terminated at Batthyany Square (underground), the main transport hub of Belbuda with direct connection to M2. Two lines origin here one to 'Békásmegyer' (the northest subdistrict before city limit) and the other to Szentendre (an art and resort village, at Danube Bend 40 km North of Budapest). The rail runs parallel with Danube. Timetable here
  • From North Pest : lines No.1 what you could catch at : 'Árpád híd' station.
  • From Hegyvidék take a tram: 4 or 6 from : 'Széll Kálmán tér' to Margaret Bridge (the South Gate of 'Óbuda' district), tram: 4 or 6 also usefull from the northern part of Belváros and from Central Pest
  • From Újbuda and Tétény take bus 86, could catch it at : 'Gellért tér' or at : 'Újbuda-központ'

  • 9 Florian's Square and surrounding legionary camp (Flórián tér és környéke légiós tábor), Vörösvári út. 24/7.   • 10 Former medieval market square, Budapest Gallery Exhibition Hall (középkori piactér, Budapest Galéria Kiállítóháza), Lajos Street 158, . The market emerged in the XII-XIII. century, the Danubian harbor and anchorage with Esztergom highway connecting streets. The line of houses on the south side led to the Clarissans convent. Zichy castle, Main square

The military amphitheater located south of former Roman military camp. Tis is in III. District. Bounded by Nagyszombat street-Pacsirtamező street-Viador street- Szőlő Street area. Around 145 the training ground, rebuilt in stone amphitheater during the reign of emperor Antoninus Pius. The construction work was performed by the Legio II Adiutrix technical corps. Obuda synagogue
