Clarks Summit is a city in the Coal Region of Pennsylvania, near Scranton.

Get in

Get around

In order to get around, many people use their own cars. There are COLTS buses that can take you from Clarks Summit to surrounding areas in the Lackawanna county. For more information on their schedule, points of drop off and pick up, as well as rates you can visit http://www.coltsbus.com/.

See

Freedom Bridge, is the bridge you cross when coming off the turnpike to get into Clarks Summit. It is 163 feet tall, and can be seen from many places throughout Clarks Summit. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2617/3729071187_826216e941.jpg.

Roba's Tree farm, have their annual pumpkin patch, and hayrides in the fall months.

There is a fall craft show in October that offers free admission and free parking. Along with the many different items for sale from the crafters, there is also a cookie sale and homemade soup and bread sale. This is held at the local Fire station.

There is a Festival of Ice, in which local ice sculptors come and create sculptures that are displayed throughout town. This is usually in late January, early February.

Do

There are many things to do. You can rent canoes and go out on the water at the local Lackawanna State Park, as well as go swimming in their pool, picnic, camp, or even rent a Yurt to campout in for a weekend.

Lahey Park offers a batting cage, mini golf, and much more.

South Abington has flea markets during the summer. There is also a paved walking path that goes along the river, as well as a playground and a baseball field to play on. There is a fire pit and picnic tables to have a family picnic and you can also enjoy a game of volleyball as well.

As you drive into Clarks Summit there is the Gourmet Diner, Bennigans, Damiens, Krispy Kreme, Friendly's, Sheetz, Kyoto, Dino and Francescos, Quiznos, Caravia Fresh, Coney Island, Everything Natural, State Street Grill, Patsels, Summit Diner, Glenburn Diner, Sunrise Cafe, and many more.
