Croton-on-Hudson is a village in Westchester County, New York.

By plane

By car

Take 9A North or 9A South depending on where in NY Then you can get off at the Senasqua exit, Croton Harmon Exit or the Cortlandt Manor exit

By train

  • Metro-North Railroad - Hudson line, [1]. Express service between Croton-Harmon station and New York City's Grand Central Terminal is about 50 minutes. Local rail service is available between other Metro-North commuter stations. Taxis are usually available at the arrival of trains from New York City. On all Metro-North trains on-board fares are subject to a stiff surcharge, so buy your tickets at the station or at the vending machines.
  • Amtrak. Long distance connections are available in New York City's Penn Station and at Metro-North's Croton-Harmon station.

  • Bee Line System. Westchester County's bus service provides access to White Plains and other locations in the county. Schedules and route maps are available on-line and at the Croton-Harmon train station.

  • Van Cortlandt Manor, 555 S Riverside Ave, ☏ +1 914 271-8981. Stone manor house and outbuildings date to the Dutch colonial era. This living history museum interprets Hudson Valley life in the years immediately after the American Revolution.

  • Old Croton Aqueduct. Go hiking or biking on the aqueduct's trailway. The original water supply to New York City is now a walking trail that runs from Croton-on-Hudson in the north to Yonkers in the south. Over the 180 years since it was built portions have disappeared from the downtown areas of several river towns, so a map can be helpful. Cornelia Cotton Gallery at 111 Grand Ave. sells maps of the trail. 
  • Take sailing lessons. Attend the Croton Sailing School, Senasqua Road, +1 914-271-6868, 
  • Go to Teatown Nature Reservation Located at 1600 Spring Valley road [2] "+1 914"-760-2912, They have a kid friendly nature center there with manyeast coast animals on display. they also have 13 different hiking trails.

  • Samuari Habachi Steak House, 352 S. Riverside Ave, ☏ +1 914 271-8988. Everyone has been to a Japanese steak house, but this one is different. they have sushi, hibachi, and many other things. They have specialty drinks ranging in Japanese soda to dragon bowls. 
  • Umami Cafe, 325 South Riverside Ave, ☏ +1 914-271-5555. Their food is a mix of Thai and American. The owners infuse many different flavors together to make unique and memorable dishes. Kid friendly also. 
  • Memphis Mae’s BBQ Bistro, 173 South Riverside Ave, ☏ +1 914-271-0125. Memphis Mae’s is the first authentic southern BBQ restaurant in northern Westchester County. But Mae’s is much more than finger lickin’ good BBQ – it is an eclectic delectable collection of down-home comfort food served in a warm bistro-style setting. 
  • Grouchy Gabe's Grill, 8 Old Post Road South, ☏ +1 914-271-9690. Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. When you walk in the door you will find a few simple booths for dining, the works of our latest local artist on the walls and delicious food. The owner is very nice, and you always get a great quick bite to eat. Also ask about skillet night! 
  • Mex-to-go, 345 South Riverside Ave, ☏ +1 914-271-8646. Serving Mexican food. Mexican food on the go! How could it get any better? they have all the authentic Mexican favorites, and make it possible for you to enjoy all of those South of the Border flavors on the go. 
  • T.K. Casquarelli’s, 440 South Riverside Dr, ☏ +1 914-271-2800. Handmade pizzas, specialty flatbreads, and a full Italian lunch and dinner menu. Very good homestyle restaurant, friendly, and great service. 
  • Ocean House (Oyster Bar & Grill), 49 North Riverside Ave (Route 9A), ☏ +1 914-271-0702. Oyster House is a small (about 20-seat) dinner-only Oyster Bar and Grill. Self-taught chef Brian Galvin presents New England-style seashore fare. Very romantic, and small. Perfect for a date. It used to be an old caboose diner, now it is an upscale fish restaurant, but there is limited space, you much go in that day and make a reservation because it fills up quickly!

They roast their own beans on premises. Excellent coffee drinks. This is different then other coffee houses because the owner imports many different coffee beans from all around th world, so you know if you go to the Black Cow your getting the best stuff on earth.

  • Alexander Hamilton House, 49 Van Wyck St, ☏ +1 914 271-6737. Bed and breakfast with river view from grounds. Air conditioned, high-speed internet access. Very romantic as well for a couple to just get away for a few days. Even if you live in the area it's still ok to go there and "get away". Very old but beautiful victorian house.

The Cortlandt Town Center (formerly known as the Westchester Mall) is a large retail power center located in the town of Cortlandt, New York . The New York Times called it "the main shopping area of the town of Cortlandt Manor" in 2003. Many new buildings were added as well, and it is currently a predominatly outdoor shopping center, eventually growing to approximately 772,000 square feet. Anchor stores include Wal-Mart, The Home Depot, Best Buy, A&P, Barnes & Noble, Office Max, PetSmart, Old Navy, Marshall's and Modell's.
