| Description |
English: • Built in 1856 for Charles Williams, patriarch of the second generation of the Williams who founded the village of Glen Williams, Ontario, Canada.
• It may have been built for Charles by his son-in-law Moffat Forester, who later became a doctor and had a practice in Acton. Charles lived in this house till his death in 1889 when he left it to his daughter Lydia (1840-1916). Lydia sold the house to Joseph Beaumont, owner of the Beaumont Knitting Mills and it has remained in the Beaumont family to this date. • The house is a 2 storey brick structure with an ornate, symmetrical facade. Brickwork on the building is similar in style to many buildings built by the Williams family around this time. • Excellent example of a Gothic Revival style residence |
