Summary

Description Fort Belgica (1611) on Banda Neira, Central Maluku, Indonesia, was built to enforce the Dutch nutmeg monopoly in the Banda Islands. In 1810 during the Napoleonic wars the British captured the fort, returning it to the Dutch a few years later.
