Description
English: The Matsuyama-castle is one of the three famous and large - multiple-wing castles in Japan. The Castle Tower was destroyed by fire in 1784,. However, when it was reconstructed in 1854, great care was taken to use traditional carpentry techniques and materials. Many of the castle buildings are designated as Important Cultural Properties. It is possible to walk up the hill (132m) to the castle or to go up by rope-way or chair-lift. The Matsuyama-castle is symbol of Matsuyama City. (Ehime, JAPAN).
日本語: 松山城は、連立式天守を有する三大平山城の一つとしても有名で、天守本壇は1784年(天明4年)の落雷により焼失したものの、幕末である1854年(安政元年)に、江戸時代最後の本格的な城郭建築として、親藩大名により再建されました。現在、松山城には現存天守をはじめ、国の重要文化財となっている21棟の建造物があり、標高132mの勝山には、ロープウェイやリフトが設置されています。松山城は江戸時代から現代に至るまで、松山のシンボルとなっています。(愛媛県松山市)
