Summary
| Description |
The Melbourne Star (previously known as the Southern Star) officially opens on 23rd December 2013. It is 120m (394 ft) tall (equivalent to a 40-storey building) and has seven spokes, reflecting the seven-pointed star of the Australian flag and takes a approximately 30 minutes for a single ride. One adult ticket costs AU $32 or two trips in one day $40. The LED lightning is a new feature to the wheel. According to the official web site, there are three-and-a-half kilometres of new LED lighting allowing for more than 15 million different light combinations. I was initially in the city, decided to swing by and see if the lights were on. I plan to take some more shots from differently angles, stay tuned. |
