Summary

Description
English: A tower of the House of Hospitality in Balboa Park, originally designed by Bertram Goodhue for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. It is in the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture style, with highly ornamented Spanish Baroque detailing.
  • Sometimes referred to it as Spanish Revival or Spanish Mission Style. Most of the Exposition structures were designed by en:Bertram Goodhue and en:Carleton Winslow, and built, for the Panama-California Exposition held in 1915. The exposition commemorated the opening of the Panama Canal.
  • "According to what I have read, it is actually a unique style of architecture that combines elements of some of the great structures found in Spain, as well as influences from some of the beautiful cathedrals found in Mexico.
