Understand

Hedmark is moose land

Hedmark together with Oppland are landlocked counties and makes up the great interior between Oslo and Trondheim. There are no big cities, only the smallish regional capital of Hamar. Hedmark is dominated by the river Glomma and its valley Østerdalen, as well as lake Mjøsa and Trysil river (that flows into Sweden). Hedmark stretches from the shores of lake Mjøsa to the border with Sweden. The southern section are some of Norway's rare flatlands and an important agricultural district with stately ancient old farms. Hedmark is also home to wide forests and Norway's largest population of moose ("elg"). This is moose land, drivers be aware at twilight.

Talk

All residents speak Norwegian, some with a hint of Swedish. English is understood and spoken by most adults.

This region travel guide to Hedmark is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here.
