Filipstad is a town in eastern Värmland.

Named for Karl Filip, a 17th century namesake to Carl Philip, the current duke of Värmland, Filipstad has been an industrial town, known as the hometown of Swedish-American engineer John Ericsson.
Filipstad itself has around 6,000 inhabitants. 4,000 more people live in the municipality.
