La Garajonay National Park
La Garajonay National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site on La Gomera.
Understand
Located in the middle of the island, the park hosts subtropical laurisilva forest that is "almost as old as the island itself" — the vegetation type has stayed the same for millions of years. The forest is made up of different evergreens flourishing under the mild temperatures and high humidity of La Gomera.

The park includes several species endemic to the Canary Islands including the Gomeran lizard, Gomeran skink, stripeless tree frog, laurel pigeon and Bolle's pigeon.

Saturdays there are free guided tours, arranged by the visitors center (Centro de Visitantes).

- Cumbre de Garajonay. This 1487m high cliff is the highest point of the island and the heart of the park. From here you can see all of the park as well as the neighboring islands of Tenerife, La Palma and El Hierro.
