Meulaboh is a remote city in Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located about 175 km southeast of Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province. Meulaboh is among the hardest hit areas by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.

Get in

By plane

Meulaboh's tiny Cut Nyak Dien Airport lies just a few kilometres outside town. Currently, however, only charter flights carrying mostly aid workers land at this airport. The airport is named after a local heroine who fought against the Dutch colonists during Indonesia's struggle for independence.

You can arrive into Meulaboh via a 3 times a day scheduled flight from Medan with Susi Air.
